He completed his S.S.C. from Kirtoniapara Bilateral High School and H.S.C. from Carmichael College, obtaining first division in both the examinations. He completed his B.Sc. from Dhaka Universuty and obtained first class second position in the merit list. In 2001, Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir obtained M.Sc. from Technical University, Dresden, Germany. In 2005, Doctor’s degree was awarded to him by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Technical University, Dresden Germany.

Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir has more than 24 years of experience in the fields of teaching, administration, government sector and different industries both in Bangladesh and abroad. He has served as the Vice Chancellor (designate) at IBAIS University. He is also a National Trainer for ITC and WTO, Geneva. He has served as a Director at NITER. He has also served as a Professor and Dean of the Textile Engineering/Engineering Department at World University Bangladesh, where he also served as an Associate Professor. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at the Textile Engineering Department of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir also served as an Assistant Professor at Technical University, Dresden, Germany. He also served as a Textile Sector Specialist at Duty Exemption and Drawback Office (DEDO), NBR, under the Finance Ministry.
He has 16 publications and conference proceedings and more than 12 of his articles have been published at the National Daily Newspapers. Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir is the Life Member of ITET (Institute of Textile Engineers and Technologies, Bangladesh) and also a Life Fellow Member of IEB (Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh). He is the Technical Editor of Bangladesh Textile Today (A comprehensive magazine for the Textile and Apparel Industry). He is also member of different renowned institutions such as the Masters Program of Maulana Vasani University of Science and Technology.
