An informative and engaging workshop on Ethnocentrism ,Strategic Culture and Leadership was conducted on 03 December 2016 at Bangladesh Institute of International and Higher Studies (BIIS) Center of Northern University Bangladesh.
Lt. General Md. Mahfuzur Rahman,rcds,ndc,afwc,psc,Phd, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division was the main speaker of the event and gave an engrossing PowerPoint presentation on the topic of the workshop.
The honorable VC of NUB, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain presided over the program where the honourable Chairman of Northern University Bangladesh Trust, Prof. Dr. A.Y.M. Abdullah, was present as the chief Guest.
The Pro-VC of Northern University Prof. Dr. Anwarul Karim, Treasurer of Northern University, Mr. Md. Anwar Hussain and Registrar Lt. Col. (Retd.) Aqtedar Ahmed Siddiqui were present as special guests.
Deans of the various faculties, departmental heads, faculty members, officials and students of NUB participated actively in the workshop and contributed to a vibrant Q & A session after the keynote presentation.
In his presentation, Lt. General Md. Mahfuzur Rahman discussed the nature of ethnocentrism and its pros and cons in the national and international perspective. He elaborated on the strategic cultures of various nations like the U.S., U.K. and China and illustrated relevant learning points from the lives of world leaders with the likes of Simon Bolivar, Mahatma Gandhi , Barack Obama. The speaker expressed hope that the future leaders would challenge conventional attitudes and work for the people, standing against injustice and oppression in light of the spirit of the Liberation War.
